Technologies
Specialising in cross-browser design standards, we aim to create websites accessible to the widest possible audience. All web content is checked for display standards in Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox.
All of our websites use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), which as well as being industry standard, this process means your website's look and feel can be quickly re-tailored to suit the identity of your organisation.
In every way possible, our websites are Search Engine Optimised, improving the chances of your website being found quickly in top search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Lycos.
In keeping up with the fast paced changes in the new media industry, Tombstone Media keeps on top of latest software releases for website creation. We use different tools to design websites for clients, depending upon their preference for hosting the site (ask us for more details).
For implementing the best visual content possible, we use several other tools to create great web content, including image manipulation and graphic design, as well as dynamic graphic animations.
We also have a number of audio and video editing tools, should such content be required in your website, as well as programs enabling us to build fun java applets such as online jigsaws, crosswords and wordsearches.
Interactivity and Sales
We also offer a range of interactive tools, created by the good people at PoppyDog. We use PoppyDog tools to provide you with completely customisable dynamic web content, such as password-protected members-areas, guestbooks, forums and messaging services. These services can be discussed in full during consultation.
If you wish to sell products via your website, we can implement shopping cart systems for you. All you need is a Paypal account, and you can leave the rest to us, safe in the knowledge your customers will be assured of the highest possible security encryption.
Pricing
Charging by the job means there are no set prices that we charge. We believe the fairest method of co-operating with clients is to listen intently to your needs, then explain to you the most appropriate method possible for achieving your goal, and finally give you an initial quote for the project (that would obviously change should features wish to be added or removed during production).
We offer to produce basic websites from as little as £70, dependent upon factors such as number and size of pages, and complexity of design. For this small price, you'd get several pages, housing content and images, with the necessary information customers will need to do business with you further. The costs for setting up the website, such as domain registration, and hosting packages supplied by third parties, should you wish to have these, will be added on to the initial charge - please see "Hosting" below regarding our website setup offer. Exact requirements can be discussed during consultation.
Additional Services
If your needs require the commissioning of imagery, Tombstone Media works alongside photographer Gemma Allen, renowned for her naturalistic and macro (close-up) photography. Mrs Allen can provide any photography services you may need in conjunction with Tombstone Media for an affordable price, which can be agreed upon during consultation.
Hosting
The final step after completing the design of your website would be to get it up and running online. As a special thank you to our clients for choosing us, we offer to handle all administrative setup duties for free: this includes registering of domain names, registering of hosting entitlements, and all e-mail related setup requirements. Not only that, but we always endeavour to find you the best deals for hosting your site, meaning if you so wish, we can register the service for you, and bill you with no additional administrative charge - you would simply be charged for the purchase of domains and hosting, with no additional administrative charge by us for registering said items on your behalf.
Maintenance
With the research we have undertaken, the information suggests that completely dynamic websites are not really a necessity for our target market, and thus at this moment in time, we do not develop content management systems. However, Tombstone Media can keep in contact with you after completion of your site, in order to keep your content current. During consultation, we could discuss whether fees for a per-update plan or a flat monthly amount would be most suitable, depending upon the proposed frequency of updates required. We believe our maintenance fees will rival any kind of fee associated with an organisation attending to a content management system.
If you opt for us to maintain your site as well as design it, then we will always endeavour to update your site with your new content within 48 hours of committing to do so. If we foresee any delays in this service, we will notify you before committing to undertake said maintenance.
